I received this from one of my top schools.
"We have now completed our preliminary review of more than 230 applications . . . You were highly rated; however, we are unable to extend an invitation for an interview at this time. Your name has been placed on a waiting list of unranked applicants. As we continue to collect information and consider decisions, we hope to review the waitlist in early March. We will inform you as soon as possible of any change in the status of your application.
The Admissions Committee was impressed by your credentials, and it is obvious you have established a record of excellence during your academic career."
Has anyone heard of this happening, and what kind of outcomes have occured in this type of situation? I know this school also sent out flat rejections already. Thanks 🙂
