Have any of you interviewed with them yet? How did it go? Are they heavy on questions about the political issues (health care reform, etc)? I'm really excited! Thanks in advance for any answers.

When is your interview? I also have an interview with them on January 11th.

I'm trying to get in touch with Michelle Thomas as we speak to set up the date. I'll update as soon as I know for sure 🙂 I'm hoping for a January date as well.
I submitted my application on Oct. 7...it was processed on Nov 7.

I live nearby. It's not my first choice of school but I am applying and I know some of the faculty.

My advice:

Dr. David Boyce is the only faculty member that can be intimidating in an interview. He's also VERY detail-oriented. One of the therapists I work with who graduated from Bellarmine said Dr. Boyce will literally look at an interviewees wrist to see if they're wearing a watch. He looks favorably on those who do because he assumes they value another person's time. I don't think this is unreasonable and I respect a professor who notices these details. Bottom line: wear a watch! LoL it sounds silly but whatever will get you more "points."

Also, I can almost guarantee they'll ask about the politics of rehab. Study up on your medicare cap details, copay laws, direct access, chiropractor opposition to spinal manipulation, PHYSICIAN OWNED THERAPY PRACTICES is a big one!!

I hope you guys get Dr. Wiegand for an interview, he is AWESOME. Anyway, that's my advice from a local. Good luck! My application will be in by the final deadline of December 3.

Thanks! I didn't even think about the watch thing, I always just keep my phone in my purse. Bellarmine is the closest place to home that I applied (about 5 hours) so I'm kind of hoping I'll get in. I really do appreciate the advice!

You're welcome! It's definitely one of the details I wouldn't have thought of either. Your phone makes it so easy. Best of luck, really let your personality shine! Smile a lot and just be passionate.

Bellarmine has had a rough week. One of their faculty passed away suddenly on Tuesday and the funeral was just yesterday. I know they're still working but I would be extra patient if you haven't heard anything.

It went well! I had mine in November and am accepted. The interview was very laid back and the faculty were very personal.
I heard about the loss of one of their faculty last week. That is such a tragedy.
