I just had an interview and the student interviewer was actually someone that I knew(but not too well) from high school. I went to a small boarding school where there was only about 360 students. Thus you could imagine my surprise to run into him there.
I ended up talking a lot about our school and teachers that apprently both of us have really liked and respected. Naturally he had to maintain a fairly cold face in order to show some professionalism. Now I'm worried that perhaps I talked a little bit too much about our high school and it might reflect poorly on me as if I was trying to be "buddy buddy" with him, a person that I actually didn't know well in school. I wasn't trying to kiss up to him at all but I just couldn't resist my excitement in meeting him there. It's very common for the graduates of my high school to have a lot to say about our shcool, but perhaps that wasn't the right time or place. Now I'm only wishing that he didn't take any bit of our connection into consideration when evaulating me, either positvely or negatively.
Have any of you had a similar experience and how did it turn out for you?
