I have already accepted an offer at my number one school and I feel pretty confident about my decision so should I bother going to my other interviews? Am I selling my self short by not at least checking the other schools out? What have others in my situation done?

I had the same dilemma...I had already gotten into NYU which is where I'd like to go and about 3 weeks later I got an interview at UDM and just recently canceled an invite to USC. I went to UDM b/c its semi-close to home and i know people in the area so I can stay there for free. My advice would be if it's going to cost you a ton to get there/interview...dont go. but if you REALLY have a strong desire to check it out and will help put your mind at ease about not selling yourself short...then yes go. Like i said, I went to UDM b/c it didn't cost me anything...USC would have cost a bunch and I didnt really have a strong desire to go there anyway....just my 2 cents. best of luck!

I'm in the same position and will be cancelling three upcoming interviews. I don't feel bad about my decision at all.

I just got into OHSU, my state school but had a Nova interview scheduled on Feb. 9. The likely hood that I would like Nova enough to travel from one corner of the country to the other for school is pretty low, but I already had it set up. Requested time off, plane tickets bought, hotel/car reserved, and friends taking a day off to spend the weekend with me...so I decided this will be fun b/c it will be such a low pressure interview, I'll see the school, and who knows right?🙂

if you got the dough, why not? low pressure interviews must be AWESOME🙂 i wouldn't know b/c i don't have an offer in my hand yet, but i must imagine it must make the entire interview more enjoyable.

btw, i would probably only go to the interview if it was in a city you'd want to visit. if you have no interest in the city then i would axe the interview!

jb!🙂

I totally agreed.

I've a question though. Do I have to call the schools or have a written response to cancel the invitation for interview??? Or I can just ignore the invitation letter?

Definitely do not ignore the letter --> You may want to apply to post-grad program at one of these schools, and you want to remain on good terms with them. You're best off calling - although, they may ask you to give them something in writing once you call.

If it's only an invitation then ignore it. At least, that's what I did. 🙄

Yea totally if its an invite you can always not go if you are not going to have any further ties to the school...but if its one of those where they have you tentatively scheduled for a date...you should cancel if you do not want to attend.

Thanks IHD. You were supposed to be at 2 of my ints. but since you weren't there, the day went a bit faster and I made my plane without any probs. Very nice.
