I received an interview invite from the University of Louisville for the end of august and have also applied to the University of Kentucky. If I called and asked them do you think Kentucky would make an advanced decision on my application to maybe interview me at the same time?

I think that the possibility of this is highly unlikely because who knows when Kentucky even starts their interview process. But it's worth a shot and would save a lot of money.

has anyone ever done something like this or heard of someone who has?

It isn't unlikely at all, and quite a few people have done this (especially with those two Kentucky schools).

Call and explain the situation to them and see what they recommend. You might have to adjust your Louisville interview by a couple of weeks, but even that might be worth it in the long run.

Call and talk to them, they've heard the question before and you won't be the last person they hear it from.
