I know this is kind of silly, but I have a couple friends who are tagging along just to eat, so I want to take them to some good local spots. I'm a big foodie myself. Looking for good food and good atmosphere. Any personal favorites? Just curious what the student/local opinion is. 🙂 I don't know anyone from Memphis, so any feedback will be useful.

I visited last spring and went to The BBQ Shop on one of the staff's recommendations. I thought it was pretty tasty, and I like the dry rubs. We wanted to hit up Rendezvous, but didn't get a chance. Someone from another thread recommended it. Anyone want to second that? What should I order?

Oh and I'm more interested in the pork bbq. I'm from Texas, so not to sound biased, but we really do have the best beef bbq already. 😀

Corky's is good. BBQ Shop, Tops BBQ, Rendezvous (if you want to spend some money). There's one I'm forgetting.. hmm. If you want a good local place to eat that doesn't have BBQ I'd check out Huey's or Memphis Pizza Cafe. 👍 Actually, Memphis Pizza Cafe has really really good chicken bbq pizza!

bbq shop is def your one stop shop for everything bbq.

check out guss's chicken if you have the time!
