Interviewing in the US as a Canadian/International

Hello there,

After receiving an interview at a US medical school, would one still placed within a smaller pool of international candidates who has interviewed or will they be lumped in with everyone else?

I think I know the answer to this question, but I just wanted clarification/opinions.
