Hello all, I have applied to Texas Tech, Texas Woman's, UT Southwestern, UNT, and Angelo State. So far I have only been granted an interview at Angelo State. I was wondering if anyone else has applied to these schools and if interviews had been granted, and to which schools. Thanks for any help on the question.

Texas Woman's University does not do interviews. I believe they notify people about acceptances around February for the regular (non-early) application cycle.

It depends on if you applied for early decision for some schools. i interviewed for texas tech already. but they do regular admissions interviews in january. UTSW has been doing interviews already. UNT did one group of interviews in early nov.

A couple of friends of mine who had applied to TT and UTSW in the past said receiving notices of interviews were pretty varied. Some received invites to interview anywhere from 1 month - 2 months post-regular deadline.

And TWU does not do interview. Apparently, research says it's unreliable to determine potential and actual abilities. They rely heavily on your LORs to gauge you, so make good impressions to your PTs that you shadow!

Hi! So, out of these schools, I have received an interview invitation for Texas Tech and UTSW. I have a friend that received an invite for UNT. And I didn't apply to Angelo State. But I applied early to all of the schools too! Hope that helps ya! 🙂

Thanks for all the input. I applied early for all of the schools except TWU. Right now I am just waiting to hear from the other schools. If anyone who is currently attending Angelo State PT program would be willing to pass on some interview pointers, I would be greatly appreciative.

I have an interview at Angelo State...so if anyone has any info about their interview process please share!!

Have you heard anything about the program, or the interviewing process?

That is cool. I have not heard much about the program other than the about the low cost and potential scholarship that you are eligible for once you have been admitted. I have read a post from a few years ago on this forum (around 2010) that stated the person really enjoyed the program. Have you heard anything about the program?

When I interviewed there last year the interview process was pretty laid back. I interviewed with two of the faculty. Not sure if they have changed the way they do things now because I know their PT director stepped down. However, when I interviewed you were told where you stood compared to all the other students being interviewed based on the point system they have.

So in a way you know if you are in or out of the program after the interview? Did you get accepted, if you don't mind me asking? And I have not heard a lot about the program. I have heard of the relatively low cost, as well as the scholarship. I know a guy in the program now who says that the program is a good one.

I in fact was accepted there after the fact they told me I was on the "outside looking in." From what I understood the program itself is under the school of nursing which was kind of a turn off to me, it is low cost and there are scholarships. In the end all that matters is that DPT. I have actually become friends with a DPT from Angelo State who is now working on his ScD here at Tech. When it came down to it I knew no matter where I went I would have some sort of debt regardless. I was accepted to the Texas Tech program and thats where I am currently. Could not have picked a better place to be with all the wonderful staff and the class they put together for 2015. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I can try and help out the best I can.

Hey! I applied to UNT, UTSW, Tech and TWU and I received interviews from UTSW and Tech. I applied to UTSW in August and got an interview for October. I had my interview for Tech set up for the 9th of November but I got into UTSW before my interview for Tech and decided not to go to the Tech interview because I wanted UTSW more.

Since then, I have accepted the offer from UTSW to join their class and that is where I will be going in May!!!

UNT and TWU have not contacted me yet but at this point I am pretty set on going to UTSW....

Hope this helps, good luck with your interview at Angelo State! I don't think UNT let's regular cycle people know if they got an interview until february so there is still hope for them!

I posted a couple years back about the Angelo State PT program. As an above poster mentioned, the program director stepped down and a long-time faculty member took his place. They also took the director of the large local therapy clinic and made him the director of clinical affilitations/rotations. All very good things - the program is stronger now than before and I think the incoming students are at a huge advantage. That, and I believe they are accepting 25-27 students now instead of 20 when I started. I'll be graduating in the next few days, and have to say I am pretty satisfied with the program. The biggest issues were the directorship of the program and the structure of clinical rotations, but both of those were rectified with the most recent administration change. Good luck.
