Saw that last year some people had interviews from a handful of schools within days of just e-submitting. Maybe we can do the same thing and post when and from whom interviews have been handed out 😀

Within days? You're kidding!? 😱 I was expecting a few weeks or so! Gonna check my e-mail now haha

within days?? this really makes me want to finish my app by the weekend

Well if you look at last years thread the first page shows a handful of people actually a good amount recieved interviews a week within submission. Apparently without LOR's and Transcripts. But the system opened a month early this time so schools may take their time this time around.

So wait, some schools will actually review your appliction and give out interviews even if aacpm hasn't recieve the official transcripts? Does that mean I should go ahead and submit my application?

exactly. That should tell you something about the standards of the school.

Me too Googlymello! That would be awesome, but apparently they are not doing it as fast this year (interview a day or two after submission) maybe AACPM hasnt released the apps to schools yet.

Its called due dilligence. Well run schools, businesses and corporations usually do it. Schools that accept you at admission = New York Knickerbockers i.e. Amar'e and 100 million dollars.

Don't forget about Isiah's possible "tampering" investigation...why would anyone let him coach college athletes?

But hey, it is the concrete jungle where dreams are made of

Not really... It's a fine signage. He'll work well there. Unlike the Cleveland set, New York will be all business.

It's a solid match for the front office, Walsh knew it.

Yeah, paying 11.6 million to a woman for sexual harassment is "all business"

really??? after only a week? you guys are so anxious.. its stressing me out lol

it seems like only yesterday that i was twiddling my thumbs waiting to hear back about interviews. oh how the time flies. dtrack, the cowboys looked kinda flat last night imo

Shouldn't you be going over acid-base disorders? As for the Cowboys...they stole your team's secret weapon. Yeah, Kim Kardashian is dating a Cowboy.

Miles Austin < Reggie Bush

Anywhoo when did you current podiatry students get your first interviews and from what school?

has anyone been contacted by any schools yet? Our apps were designated to schools on the 3rd of August.

I've got nothing yet, but I submitted earlier this week. My MCAT was received, and I sent some other documents to the schools already. When did you submit?I feel like they might take their time this year, as the app cycle opened a month earlier than last cycle...

GL, keep us posted!🙂

As WesternU Marie said:

No school will invite an applicant to interview until a completed AACPMAS application is available. A completed application is defined as an AACPMAS application with verified grades (transcript sent in and processed).

I turned my AACPMAS in on Aug 2, had my transcripts ordered the 3rd, and still the website says "Not Recieved" for my transcripts 🙁

- okay good to know I am not the only one in this boat. My app was turned in the same time as yours and sent my transcript a few days after, but still no sign of getting them received as well 🙁

same here submitted on the 2nd and mailed out on the 3rd and nothing yet.

Also I agree since it opened up a whole month earlier, schools may wait until the day our transcripts and gpa's are verified. Yay.

mcat scores are sent when you input your code right? i just want to make sure i am not missing anything here.

also.. where in the world do we submit e-lor's?

If I am not wrong letters are sent directly to schools either through normal mail or through interfolio (some accept e-lors others dont).

MCAT scorse are submitted to AACPMAS while DAT/GRE scores are sent directly to schoools.

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but don't forget when you submit your MCAT scores to go onto the MCAT THx website and have them released to the AACPM, in addition to putting them onto the AACPM website...🙂

without the negativity of SDN, people would probably make more logical decisions about things, maybe think for themselves and not perpetuate stereotypes from the 1970s.

Has anyone sent anything (LORs, transcripts, etc) To their designation schools yet?I was waiting until AACPMAS verifies me, but this seems to be taking longer than I expected. I mailed a transcript to them 1 week before the application became available and it is still "not recieved."I remailed it out last week. No clue what is going on here.

Has anyone even had them update your GPAs?? I've had my stuff sent it as well. Nothing still even on my application status.

Nothing will probably happen 'til you see "Transcript Recieved". No updates here.

Phew I feel a lot better 🙂. I sent my transcripts August 3rd and still nothing here too. Too bad they dont seem to be following the same pattern as past year!

It's a good thing that they're not following the same pattern. This is a more professional way of doing things. I feel that getting interviews w/o verified grades is kinda sketchy. No worries though; we should be getting updates soon. 👍

I'm an anxious person, but I have to agree with you 🙂. Hopefully tomorrow my transcripts are marked as received when I wake up in the morning.

I just checked and they have my mcat score posted. I think i submitted it thursday or friday of last week.. just to give you guys an idea...

Yea, nice professional idea. Let's just drag our butts and not even update people's applications after they have already shelled out hundreds of bucks. I can understand not updating the "Verified" or "complete" status until a few weeks after submission, but to not even update transcript reception is simply poor admin quality. Also, we, unlike med school students, send our transcripts to the individual schools this early in the game. If a school has the transcript, I'm sure they should be able to interview whom ever they want. Personally, I see no point of AACPMAS except to get out money, slow the process down even more, and attempt to mimic the MD/DO application cycle. Why open a month early if this is too much a hassel to do their jobs right?

Of course it's a way to get money. I've already spent way too much as it is applying to other schools last cycle...not to mention the $230 MCAT. What a deal... :uhno:

I guess they figure we'll be rich later, so might as well make us bankrupt now. 🙁

Speaking of slow..... has anyone actually been able to contact them? Due to differences in time zone and a strict cell phone policy at my place of employment I am unable to call them and they haven't responded to my e-mails.

Drag their butts? Really, do you know how long MD/DO candidates wait for things, not to mention the substantial increase in cost. Applying to DPM is a bargain! The application cycle just opened up two weeks ago so simmer down. They have to look over your transcripts, then check it against your application, then calculate your GPA by year, subject, etc. so it does take some time.

And yes podiatry is trying to align itself with MD/DO application cycle. If we want to be taken seriously as a profession, why wouldn't we? Plus wouldn't it be less time consuming to fill out one application rather than 9 individual applications?

You also shouldn't be sending your transcripts to the schools at this point. Even if the schools have a copy of your transcripts but you haven't been verified by the application service, you can't be invited to interview. So basically you are just spending extra, unnecessary money having your transcripts sent to each school when you could have just sent them once to the application service.

By having a centralized application service there is also the added benefit of being able to have confirmed and accurate information when comparing schools. There are many ways to configure GPA and I'm sure some schools would attempt to promote their absolute highest GPA (or even possibly make one up!) when recruiting students to make their programs seem more competitive. Now the application service is able to say XX school's incoming class had an average GPA of X.XX for all schools, giving prospective students an accurate way to compare schools if they so choose.

Before you go ragging on the application service, just sit back, take a breath and wait it out.

Yea,

I submitted my aacomas application June 01 and was verified 7 days later. And this is with DO grade forgiveness which does not apply to POD school. Try again Skipbee! Just this morning I recieved an email from a caribbean medical school indicating the receipt of an official transcript mailed out last Friday. Not only was this email updated, but they even told me what was required to complete my application. This AACPMAS admin service is a mess. Plain and simple buddy!

I wouldn't jump to conclusions... I don't think they're a mess. Sure it's taking longer than expected, but you never know what might be happening on their end.

What carib school you applying to? I was thinking of applying to AUC last year but ended up not doing it.

Mini-update: got an email from OCPM saying they've recieved the application, and our waiting for grade/transcript verification 🙂

Great update musicianman! That means schools are ready to pounce on those apps as soon as grades are verified 🙂! Come on AACPMAS. Also I agree, other services are much much faster and more orderly. Maybe its because they simply dont have to stress as much due to the low volume of applications compared to other services?

Ross, AUC, St. George and MUA. Its all about options! AT the end, I'll make the best decision. First, you need options though!

I know a VERY smart individual that went to Ross, and has nothing but great things to say about it. As long as you do stellar on your boards and bust your butt, then securing a residency state-side shouldn't be a problem. 😀

But I digress... meanwhile, in podiatry land...

Right now, the biggest issue is residency spots, or the lack their of in the future with new US schools opening. Its a gamble, but pod residency spots are also a issue for the future. Its going to be a choice of moving my family down to a 3rd world country for med school for 2 yrs vs staying in the US and doing podiatry or possible sitting another year for a chance at US DO. At age 30, I'm ready to get things going now.
