Hey guys...have any of you started getting interview invites?
I think we should start listing when and where we have interviewed so far and what future invites we have gotten.

Thanks

University of Maryland @ Baltimore........... 10/04/2004
Mercer University.................................... 11/05/2004
Virginia Commonwealth University............. 11/13/2004
Nova Southeastern University................... 11/16/2004
Shenandoah.......................................... 12/09/2004
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)................... 02/04/2005

Good for you, it means that you're definitively going somewhere this fall.
As for myself? Nothing.
I don't feel bad though, since I didn't applied to any of the schools that you listed.

There's still a long way to go in this application cycle and many schools do not start interviewing until after January. I would'nt worry about it. I had two friends who did not interview until May last year and got into the schools they wanted.

FutureRxGal,

Did you hear anything back from Mercer yet? They told me I should hear back around mid to end December.

I'm going to Maryland tomorrow!

It's going to be so freaking cold. Why oh why did I choose an 8.30am interview? =P

And the jet-lag. =)

But I'm stoked.

And I've heard nothing but good stuff about their interview process. Hey jacob, when do you find out about them?

hey jacob, i pretty much have applied to the exact the same schools as u got interviews to, good luck. and nikkai please post up how ur interview went and any tips you have for us, thanks

Oh what the heck. I've kept mum long enough. 🙂

Mercer University - 10/1/04
Midwestern University - Downers Grove - 11/29/04
Shenandoah University - 12/6/04

Good luck on your interview! 🙂

Congrats to jacobt!!!~*... wow.. so many interviews in such a short period... Hopefully you get to go where u want to go... As for me.. I got an interview at PBA...(west palm beach)... so far I am on a hold status... until PCAT scores roll in... well... GOOD LUCK TO everyone... take care. ppls..

congrats jacob! how did the interviews in november go?

Thanks ilovelylaydee and wwwlongcom

The interviews in November went pretty well. Now it's all about the waiting game and hopefully I'll find out something by the end of the year from them.
This year has been totally opposite from last year. I did not get one interview last year. It was one rejection after another. I think my main problem was applying too late in the cycle. This time around I was sure to finish up my applications early and get them in ASAP.

Same exact thing with me.

How did your interview at Shenandoah go? Did you like the school?

Here's my list:

University of Maryland- 9/18 (accepted)
Virginia Commonwealth U- 10/15 (declined interview after Uof M acceptance)
University of Pacific- invited to set an interview on 12/4

Ummmmm, did u guys all get interviews early because the schools already have your PCAT scores on file? Im assuming that the rest of us are still waiting for the PCAT thing to go through.

Are you going to go to the UOP interview? It'd be nice to go to a 3-year school. 🙂

Hi all

Got back from Univ Maryland, Baltimore.

Interview went great. Really friendly people there. With the exception of the recruiter lady who talked more than us during the small group session. Kinda frustrating when she would talk about nothing, then when I tried to give input on the subject she would cut me off stating a lack of time. *shrug* But other than it was great. Students were cool, profs were cool, classes seemed cool. The city is ghetto as the rumors, but if you've lived in big cities before it's nothing new.

And if you go there, eat many many many crab cakes. Go to Ten O Six for brunch! And get their Eggs Chesapeke! Omigosh that was so freaking good. =D

Congratulations! Could you tell me what form your invitation came in (phone, mail, e-mail?)?

via e-mail 👍

I'll be interviewing at USN Jan 19, probably flying from so cal since I don't think driving is worth gas/mileage/time. 😀

Here is my particularly ugly travel itinery:
Friday 4pm - Leave Podunk, Iowa
9pm - Fly out of Chicago
11:15pm - Arrive in Las Vegas - Pick up rental car
11:30pm - Drive around; study; find a restaurant; win some cash
Satuday 8:00am - Interviews
4:00pm - Fly back to Chicago
12:00mid - Arrive back at home sweet home Iowa

anyone else go on some crazy trips?
-skp

i think ill take the opportunity to make this a nice trip for myself...i dont think i would like to fly since dealing with car rentals and what not is a pain in the arse...and plus, i might make this a worthy road trip with couple of my friends 😉 or maybe i will take my father and spend some quality time with him as we drive for 8 hours 😴 oh well im pretty excited

i wish i could drive - I hate flying

Monday, December 6:

Woke up at 3am - Tampa, FL. Got ready for my interview at 2pm in VA.

4:15am - Drove to TIA for a 6am flight to Dulles International.

8:05am - Arrived at Dulles, picked up rental car

9am - Left rental car place and drove 50 miles west - over the mountains and through the woods - to Winchester, VA. Felt sick from the plane ride. Got a breakfast sandwich that didn't make me feel any better.

10am-something - Felt even more nauseous from the plane ride (and I never get motion sickness). Arrived in Winchester. Tried to nap in my rental car so that I would feel better before my interview.

11am-1pm - Felt better and drove through downtown Winchester. Went to public library to study. Ate lunch. Drove to the school.

2pm-3:30pm - Interview.

3:30pm - Drove back to Dulles. Took two "shortcuts" which turned out to be longer than staying on the main road. Heh.

5pm-ish. Arrived at rental car place and was shuttled back to the airport.

6pm - Bought Dramamine. Went to my gate and studied until boarding time at 9pm.

9:30pm - Took off for FL. Studied on plane.

Midnight - Arrived back at TIA, and was so deliriously tired that I thought someone had stolen my car, and my feet were killing me from wearing heels since 3am... Luckily, my car was on the next level, but I still can't ever remember using any elevators or walking down any steps...

Anyway, got home at 1am and was up the next morning for a final exam. So yeah, it was a pretty crazy day overall. 😀

yikes...that makes my upcoming trip look like a walk in the park!

I applied around October and recieved it via email.

i'm gettin' in real late so i'm not checking in to a hotel...just going to find some 24hr place and read/wait until morning...(i'm nervous i'd sleep in too!)

Only one interview for me this year, as only one of my choices will let me take classes over the summer. If I don't get it, I'll try a few mor eschools next year.

have an interview at Palm Beach Jan 28. First time going on an airplane! prob. will be on the "hold" status too since I just took the PCAT in Jan.

I applied to Mercer too but they wont review my application till they get my PCAT scores.

This waiting is unbearable. I'm excited about the interview coming up thou. Hope all goes well for you guys! 🙂

My sole interview:

WVU 2/2/05

...which is great, because they don't even start interviewing until Feb. Oh, and it's the only place I've applied, so it being my only invite isn't a bad thing!
