Intro Bio: Easy A Genetics and Ecosystems, or Harder Physiology Course?

My university offers intro biology in three courses: genetics and ecosystems, cellular and organ physiology, and molecular and cellular biology. Taking molecular and cellular biology is a given. For the second semester of biology which of the following should I take?

• Genetics and Ecosystems w/ class average of A- and A for previous 2 semesters
• Cellular and Organ Physiology w/ B and B for previous 2 semester

Is the latter course worth it for some MCAT content exposure? Is an A in one class viewed better than an A in the other? I'm leaning towards genetics and ecosystems because I gather that my GPA is more important than the specific courses I take.

You pretty much have it laid out. I really do not see any of these 2 to be more beneficial for MCAT than the other. Both genetics and cellular bio courses are beneficial to some degree. Otherwise, having an A in hand is better in my opinion.

I would go for the better chance at an A as well. On the other hand, I personally found the big ideas from my physiology course quite beneficial during a good number of passages. It made some concepts like osmoregulation, hormone feedback pathways, etc a bit more intuitive in the crunch.

The A's are better to give you a better chance to get into med school. The Physio class is much more useful for your knowledge in med school and for boards. Choose wisely.

Personal I would take Physiology because it's more interesting than the other class. You are going to see it again in Medical school anyway.

Blechhh what isn’t med school curriculum. Physio is like the heart and soul of it all. Learning what goes up, down, how to balance things, etc etc etc. Important tools for being a good physician and also how mcat is trying to test more in bio section, except using scientific studies instead.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will take genetics and ecosystems for a grade but when time allows, audit physiology.
