So, is it okay if all of my pre-med courses are intro level? Like Intro Bio, Intro Chem, etc. Or is it better to take a higher level course of each, like genetics and cell and mol bio for bio and applied chem for chem?

OChem and Biochem are upper-level Chem, and are needed to do well on the MCAT. Many med schools require some upper-level Bio. Good choices are Genetics, Cell Bio, and Physiology. Check the schools you plan to target and be sure you're including what they expect to see.

I was not a science major and took the bare minimum pre-med requirements, however that is not enough to do well on the MCAT. Definitely recommend an upper level physiology and biochem class.

I agree. Upper level classes were essential in me doing well on the bio portion of the exam. Cell bio, biochemistry, and microbiology helped me retain more info than I would have with self studying. As a bonus, I was also able to also skim quickly through some passages because they talked about concepts I learned in those classes. This saved me time and I was able to put more time into the questions that required data interpretation.
