hello all,
I am currently doing a rotation at an institution I plan applying to for internal medicine. Most of my time is spent with residents and interns. I have seen the program director around, but not sure how to approach them. I'd like to introduce myself and express interest in the program.

Any advice on how to strike up a conversation ??

I went up during morning report one day and just introduced myself, went to the office on their urging, and met with the PD later on in the week. You can also just email the office.

I called his secretary and asked to schedule a meeting. He had my ERAS application in front of him. Got an interview offer 3 days later and matched there (first choice).

This is what I would do, probably the smoothest transition to meeting with him/her.

Just go up and talk to him. It is part of their job to talk with potential students! Likely he will offer a meeting if he does not then suggest you would like to "sit down and talk about your application" at some point.

Survivor DO

What do you mean by "sit down and talk about my application." Does this mean the PD will basically interview me?
