I got a good ? from one of my paramedics. He had read that amiodarone has a lot of Iodine in it. He asked if that means that it should be avoided in pts with an iodine or contrast allergy. I answered like any doc pretenting to know about pharm and said that it should be used if indicated and I've never heard of any problems with the iodine. Have any of you guys ever heard of this?

It should not be used in patients with an allergy to iodine, especially if it's an anyphylactic reaction.
