Ionic radius vs atomic radius

If 2 atom were given to compare from period 3,

would alkali metal have smaller ionic radius than the alkali earth metal?

since it's weaker to draw in electrons?

I'm comparing alkali +1 ion and alkali earth +2 ion.

I think alkali earth metal would have smaller ionic radius.

Number of e after ionization would be same for both ion but alkali metal will have one more proton then alkali metal so would have more + charge to pull e and thus smaller radius.

yes.
atomic radii decrease as you go right and up (opposite of electronegativity)

you can only compare on same row
it's not "much smaller", it's just "smaller"
if you compare sodium to beryllium, that would be too hard unless you specifically know the data

Yep - just focus on changing one variable at a time. When you change two variables the effects are not as predictable.
