no thanks...I drove 3+ hours for my interview and paid $100 for the application...I deserve a response.

well its ur own fault for driving 3+ hours since u got accepted to other schools way b4 ur iowa interview! lol jking... I guess u do deserve a response, I canceled all my interviews once I found out i got in to iowa cause I wanted to give some1 else the chance...

wow, they have you guys registering already. I guess if only 7 people have started registering that's good news for those of us who haven't been accepted. Have you done all of your fafsa and loan stuff already?

yeah I filled out my fafsa, still waiting for Iowa to process it though, should be done this week... Im guessing im going to take out all the loan thats available to me this year cause i dont have any savings...at least not much

I don't know much about the loan process for grad school, but does anyone know how it works for housing? My husband and I own our own home and if I don't work, we'll need additional money to pay our mortgage and other bills. I've heard both ways, that you can and can't get additional help. Anyone know for sure??

Your story sounds a lot like mine...my husban and I own our house in Davenport, IA. I was strongly recommended to me that I do not work or commute, so now I have the task of finding money for tuition, mortgage, rent, and other bills......I asked my pharamcist how many bottles of Percocet I would need to sell to pay my tuition😉

I was strongly recommended to me that I do not work

I think u can handle a part time job, my twin bro is doing it in his p1 year right now, and he's not that smart

Nice.......hope it's not genetic🙂

ok, so there's less than a week before the "deadline." I seriously thought I was going to throw up when I went to go get my mail today. When am I going to find out?? Does anyone know how they tell you if you're on the Waitlist? email or via mail?

it'll come in your rejection mail. you'll have to read the entire thing or youll never realize you've got the option of waitlist. and I'm still waiting too

just to let you guys know...only 30 ppl, including me, signed up for classes so far cheers!

got my rejection letter =(

I'm about 95% sure I'll be heading to Iowa City this fall. I'm a resident and long time Hawkeye fan. The instate tuition will be a lot more reasonable then the private and out-of-state.

I was totally hoping to get waitlisted at least. It's okay...i'll get through it 🙂

I'm on the waitlist as of today, so if anyone isn't gonna be going, please get those emails and letters in asap!! 🙂

Dear. megsreesies;:luck:

How did you get the response from the school that you're on the waiting-list? Through e-mail or mail?
And what date did you have your interview on?

I am still waiting for rejection or waiting list or anything..whatever..
So sick of waiting for their response..😕

i got my rejection letter and it said the schpeel about not getting accepted, however they were extending the offer of being put on the wait list. If I wanted to be put on it I had to email them. I got this yesterday. Last year, I got a shorter version of this rejection letter w/o the wait list portion

is it true they have a corn eating contest at the interview?

is it true they have a corn eating contest at the interview?

yes followed by an arm wrestling contest that I won (the winner gets automatic admission) 🙄

I don't know...is it true that in order to get into Minnesota you have to be able to recite all the lines from Fargo?

Isn't Fargo in North Dakota...?

Yeah but the movie "Fargo" by the Coen brothers is shot in Minnesooooooooooota. Brainerd and Edina I know for sure

I had to recite lines from Drop Dead Gorgeous. Luckily I studied.

Does anyone know when we'll start hearing back about the waitlist?

So, to get this right, you get waitlisted in a rejection letter. O no, I have to look for mine, I didn't read the whole thing. I was too disappointed, thought it said I was not chosen as a candidate, but didn't read further....😕

I got accepted to U of I too 👍 for the class of 2013. I am a little bit crazy about the OOS tuition. Now I am in the middle of two school and one of them, as I said, is U of I and the other one is in VA (not as good as U of I). I don't know what to do when I need to move back to Iowa (I was from IA) and my husband needs to fly back and forward between his work in VA and Iowa once every other week if we decide to move to Iowa. We can't live seperately since we're a couple and my hubby is not willing to do that. I really need you guys give me advices what I should do. Does it really matter when you graduate from a good school and a not-so-good school since Pharmacy is hot now? Is the program in U of I very hard and overwhelming (in case you know people who have been there)? I don't know the tax for my husband when he works for company in VA and lives in IA? The problem is that he will exhausted by paying out of pocket and time just for flying back and forward btw VA and IA? Is it worth it to sacrify my husband over my dream school? Please help me guys! Thanks.

@ Megsreesies: Do you have a 4 yr degree? What part of Cedar Rapids u r from? I lived in CR b4. Nice to meet u here.

Star, it might not matter to your employer so much where you graduated from, but it will matter how well you are prepared for the job. Iowa has a great program. I have worked with 2 pharmacists for the past 3 years who graduated from there and they have taught me so much. I even received the Tech of the Year Award for the entire company of Sam's Club this year I feel partly because of how well they have trained me and my dedication to the job. I feel Iowa is one of the top schools for preparing you for how to counsel patients, has a top research program, and great opportunities for rotations and shadowing experiences. I don't know anything about VA, but if you say it's not as good and you got into IA, I'd pick IA. I know the OOS tuition is a lot, but think of what you'll be making when it's all done. Iowa has a 100% placement rate, does VA? I do live in CR and will be commuting, kinda sucks. Hope this info helps. If you pick VA any ways, I'm sure you'll still be fine there too.

are there any girls still looking for roommates for next fall?!?!
