Dr. Doan, this is a question mainly for you, but if anyone else has any input, I'm all ears.
I'm applying this fall, and without fail everyone I ask has nothing but glowing things to say about Iowa's residency program. I've sent Sherry Brown a request for information, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind telling us a little of your insider's perspective.
What are the highlights of the program? How is the residency structured? What degree of contact is there with faculty? Is there a lot of teaching? What are the surgical experiences like for residents? What are the clinical experiences? Are there any recent or upcoming big changes? How do graduates fare in terms of competiting for residencies? Etc, etc, etc. And, anything else you think is important.
Thanks!
