The best thing I can recommend is Mental Case, it's a flash card program and it has helped me study both years. First year I used to put everything on flash cards and I would have close to 2K cards per system. That can get expensive when you have to buy flash cards all the time, plus it didn't let me incorporate pictures. But with Mental Case I can and it's AWESOME

how much space does all this take up? and other apps? i was thinking of getting the 32 gb ipod touch since with the student pricing on new macs you get $199 off which means getting the 8 gb for free and the 32 for $100. so i was wondering if i should bother getting the extra space or if 8 gb would be fine. i already have an ipod to put my music on (even though it's a mini, like anybody even remembers those!), so the touch would probably only be for school.

Depends on what you will be using it for and the size of your music library. I always err on the side of bigger storage because you can't just swap out another drive.

But the application itself is only a few MB but the true size of the app plus your flash cards will be determined on how many flash cards you have and if you use images within your flashcards.

For Derm I had a flash card set that was close to 500mb in size due to all the images

thanks all. does anyone here have a ton of these med apps? i plan on looking around to see what's out there and how large they are, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here, too. the touch would only be for school stuff, since my mini stays in the car for when the radio sucks.

I like this application. Is there something like this compatible with vista, preferably freeware?

Try Anki. It doesn't have the same polished look as Mental Case, but it's free and has the ability to sync all your card decks over all your devices (via a server--and this is free, too). There's an iphone app for it that's $25, or you can just use the website via your phone. There's a windows client, too.

neatoooo! I like this app. Definitely going to use this in the fall 😀 Thanks!
