Not that it's a dealbreaker or anything, but I can't remember which programs provide you with an iPad and which don't. I only remember that UChicago gives you one for keeps, and Ohio State gives you one for your residency but I think you have to give it back when you leave.

Anyone been keeping track?

Mayo Rochester gives you one but you have to give it back at the end.

BIDMC provides iPads. I can't recall if you have to give it back, but feel like you get to keep it.

Even so, having to give back a 4 year old iPad really isn't the end of the world.

I wonder if they have a trade in program for residency programs? If, along the interview trail, someone told me that I was going to get a 4 year old used iPad, they'd probably slide down my list some.

UF-Gainesville gives you want and appears to have a pretty strong library of resources ready to access on it.

Essentially every residency I have heard of has a very large unofficial digital resource collection. No matter where you match you will likely have plenty of pdfs to read on the digital device of your choice.

It's often also possible to use your book funds for ipads even in programs that technically don't allow it, as long as they let you order your own books.
