So right now I have (don't laugh) a tracfone from Walmart. It is a "smartphone" of sorts: I can check my email, google search, and use most basic internet functions. It's $45/mo for unlimited talk, text and data. But it has next to no storage capability, plus it's very buggy when it comes to email, SDN and many other things.
Because I plan on downloading recorded lectures to listen to in the car, and probably watching a lot of them too, because I really like a lot of the organizational apps that iphone offers, and lastly because I plan on buying a MacBook Air before I start med school in the fall, I am wondering if an iPhone would be a good investment. I also have a 22% discount on the monthly bill through my current job (which supposedly sticks around even after you quit.) I'm just gathering opinions on how useful/needed this will be in med school, specifically since bill right now is so low. I know a lot of programs are now requiring mobile devices, and I'm wondering if it's a bit of an unsaid requirement across the board.
