I was looking at the Irish schools and was wondering what type of grades people have that were accepted. My undergrad has a low gpa at 2.4 but I have a 33 MCAT. Does anyone know the possibilities of getting into RCSI UCD or TCD with that?

The Irish schools don't look at just scores. Our scores don't mean too much for them as it is different from their marking system. So on one hand you have a poor GPA which indicates to them that you're a "mediocre" student compared to your peers, and you have a decent MCAT score which tells them that a) you are medically inclined or b) you're a good test taker for American standardized exams. Any of the above may or may not be true.

What you need to do is write a really kick ass personal statement which shows off something besides your grades or scores, and a good "well-rounded" CV which shows you have something unique to add to their communities.

However, it seems to be getting more competitive to get into the Irish schools and there are no definite cutoff points. Good luck :luck:
