This is my last semester and I only need a couple classes to finish my degree. Im at 12 credits right now for the semester (4 science courses). Should I add another science course or should I take something random? Or do I not need to take anything at all? Im worried 12 credits may seem like a light load but they are tough science courses.

will have hardly any difference on your gpa - you probably have at LEAST 100 credits already, what's 4 more going to do?

I'd say it would have minimal effect at most - UNLESS you have a low GPA/sGPA or downward trend, then the extra A might help

Are you worried about what adcomms will think? They don't just look at academic load, but at everything that's keeping you busy. What other activities will you be involved in?

yeah im worried about what adcoms will think. Last semester I took 12 credits too but I had a very research-heavy semester as I was busy finishing up my work for publication. This semester im going to be focusing more on volunteering, but I probably could fit in another class. I also have to consider that i am over my credit hour limit so each class costs $$$.

I would just stick with 12, especially if it will cost extra dollars. Do well in your classes, volunteer, and remember to have fun during your last semester!

I took the minimum amount of credits during my last year and it didn't seem to be a problem for me this cycle. (Most classes were GE's too!)

Stick to 12 credit hours then, but be otherwise busy (which includes MCAT study time).

For reference, I went part time so I could do an honors thesis in one semester and shore up my volunteering and shadowing hours.

No ones asked about my decreased load at all
