Hi there,

So, here is my predicament. I have been scanning the postings and a lot, if not the majority, of people say that 4 weeks of solid studying between the end of school and the boards is the right amount. However, I come from a school that believe in medical school bootcamp - that is, they only allow 3.5 weeks between the end of school and the start of clinical rotations. As a result, I have scheduled my test for 3 weeks after the last final. However, there is a twist - I am actually a MSTP and as such I don't have to start rotations when everyone else does. So why did I schedule them? Because my study partner is an MD! So, my question is - do I absolutely need four weeks, or will three weeks be close enough? I am a pretty good student and above mean in my class.

Thanks so much!

NO IT IS NOT

You'll be fine studying for "only" 3 weeks . Anymore than that, and you'll start losing information as fast as you learn it. After 4 weeks of intensive studying, you won't remember what you were reading on the 1st day you started studying. There's only so much you can cram for the test.
