I tried to ask this in the pre-pharm program, but haven't gotten any help.

I am from minnesota- here anyone can become a registered pharm tech by filling out an application, background check, and paying a fee.

on pharmcas, there is a section called licenses and certifications.

Do other states call this easy registration a license? or is pharmcas referring to passing the test?

I am just wondering if I should put anything down for licenses and registration.

HELP!

Thanks!

a pharm tech is a CPhT certified.
when they pass the exam they get a certificate..

a certificate is different from a registration or a license..

thanks, but what I really want to know is if a pharm tech registration is the same as a license??

I never took a test and am not certified, but if I have a registration does that mean I have a license?

It depends on the state you're in. In some states when you register as a pharm tech you receive your pharm tech license. In the same states you can also take the certification test to become a certified pharm tech.
