I have my first PT school interview in a couple weeks, and I'm not sure how formal to dress. Would you recommend a matching suit, or would a mismatched suit be okay? For reference, I am female. Any other tips for interview attire?
Full matching suit. If you are within the realm of formal business attire it is essentially impossible to be too well-dressed. Although I have seen a lot of ghastly apparel at PT school interview days, and these people still manage to get in.
Dress as best and professionally as you possibly can. I am 25 and a female. I bought myself a Calvin Klein black suite, a blue blouse, and some conservative closed toed wedges from Macy's that I wore to each and every one of my interviews. I spent about $300 with everything. I went to 4 interviews. Was denied from 1. Accepted to 1. Waitlisted to 2. At this point I withdrew my applications and took my one acceptance.

When you say a mismatched suit, how obvious is it?
I would say to get a matched suit if you have the funds, however, I understand that not everyone has that ability without it being very stressful. If you absolutely cannot get a matched suit and you still think your mismatched suit looks fine, then keep it. Is there possibly a way to add a picture on the forum? Then I could tell you better.
Other interview attire: I wore a matched suit, a cute but high-necked blouse underneath, and a pair of small heeled pointy toed shoes. Natural looking makeup but still coverage (no crazy eyeshadow/heavy eyeliner/bright lipstick, but mascara and concealer and I like to do a power brow personally). I think feeling confident is the most important part so that you don't have to fuss continually about how you look.
Many schools have long walking tours. I advise being comfortable in your shoes or bringing a pair of tiny flats.
for my interviews I wear a black dress and suit jacket (when the suit jacket is buttoned the outfit looks like a suit). I found this was a less expensive option then trying to find a suit. Good luck!
I didn't wear a matching suit, but I wore separates. I wore a black jacket from Banana Republic and dress pants from Anne Taylor Loft with a nice shirt underneath and flats.
Often times it's not a funds problem, but a fit problem. I was prepared to spend a lot, but had a lot of trouble finding a suit where both the pants and the jacket fit me properly, so I ended up buying separates.
Pants were $60, and I scored a $30 jacket that I had to get altered . Both from Macy's.

I only applied to Georgia schools.. during my two interviews that I have had (around October and November) it was mid 60's to 70's the whole time. I know its much colder other places but I didn't consider that in my post haha.
