Required? No. You can provide 20 year old letters from your family postal worker written in monkey spit if you like.

Recommended? Well, I for one would wonder what you've been doing since you last applied. Are you telling me you have no updates, no one who can talk about what you've been doing since last year? If you've been in residency, then it would appear strange to me to not have new letters from your current faculty.

I just need to know because I think I may have failed CS and may have ruined my chance of matching for 2010. Just trying to prepare for the possible worst. But thanks for the advice WS.
