it may get old to some, but for people like me who are new to SDN forums i want to know and that is not a sign of insecurity. this site is here for people to ask questions... like i said before i am not even taking premed courses yet and no one should be offended by the question. i want to know i will ask and YOU don't have to post anything... if it bothers you so much how about you don't respond

being that i am the OP, i want to clarify something-- i did not ask this question to start a debate or for anyone to have to defend their profession. i am not worried about being called a doctor or whatever, i still don't know what profession i want to be in yet, and when i choose i am sure that it won't be b/c of a title. i respect all professions. but i don't know anything about them or what they intel, that's why i ask questions. if you read the whole post i stated that i only needed one person to respond and only a yes or no answer, and reading some of the other posts, clearly you cant give a yes or no......... i just didn't know and thought this would be the perfect place to ask. all of the bickering back and forth isn't neccesary. so if i offended people, my bad, but for all others who are tired of seeing this post just DON'T RESPOND, b/c yall just blew the whole thing out of proportion.................

I've responded with diferet names. The insecurity comment was directed to Hermit, not you - but you would benefit from the search as well.
Ask away - any question you want. You'll either get bad answers, sassy answers, no answers or a few answers with a bit of truth. Take that & make a judgemet - or be a bit more complete & search what many of us have said over the years.
But, given that you are just not even taking pre=med courses- what woud the title even mean???? That is not the whole of who we are. As any SECURE pharmacist & they'll tell you the same.......

The healthcare professional community is REALLY trying HARD to shift the vocabulary of calling M.Ds doctors to permanently calling them PHYSICIANS...., so as to distinguish them from other doctors, e.g dentists, pharmacists....etc....
