Hi,
My mcat is in about a week and I just took my
aamc sample test and I got a 508.7 (after I converted the score). Im really happy since im aiming for a 508+. However, in the last 2 weeks I took next step fl 3 and 4 and got a 503 on both of them. Is the sample test much easier and i should instead expect to get a lower score or is next step alot harder? TIA!

The sample test is the least representative of all the test. A bunch of questions came from an old mcat released in 1991!! Some passages are good but most are too easy.

Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know. How many points would you say I should take off when imagining my score?

I would say the CARS section is not extremely representative as it has a larger proportion of easier passages than you might typically find on the MCAT. Beyond that though, I think the other section are pretty decent. I think it's a step in the right direction that you're scoring at a higher level on AAMC material, even if it's not the most representative, it'll still be more representative than anything else you have taken. I would suggest taking AAMC FL3 at minimum before your exam because that will give you a good idea of where you stand, especially in regards to P/S.

I usually suggest that it's almost mandatory to finish all of the AAMC material before taking the actual exam, but it might be difficult for you to do so if your exam is about a week away. I would reiterate to at least squeeze in FL3 and see where you are. Also, do the section banks if you haven't yet. Let me know if you have any other questions at all!
