SYMPOSIUM ANNOUNCEMENT
Friday, November 15 & Saturday, November 16, 2002
Doctoring in Hard Times
will examine the profession of medicine and physicians' careers in an era of dramatic change and challenges. Many physicians feel that they do not want to practice medicine given the pressures imposed by managed care, malpractice and increasing bureaucracy. Some are leaving the profession entirely. What can medicine and medical education do to meet these challenges? What can new doctors entering the field expect in terms of their careers? Presenters will include physicians working in academic medicine, private practice, pharmaceutical firms, and managed care organizations.
