i see many high scores on Ochem but for bio very few break 25. also QR and RC scores are definitely going down compared with last year. I would say the overall AA should be lower than that of last year due to this "Bio/QR/RC" effect. what do you guys think? btw, ADA percentiles don't mean much because they include previous years' stats

i think they will stay about the same. Since you can't compare with the ADA says, and SDN is highly biased towards those who like to share scores because they did well....then this topic is on of SDN's favorites...heresay and conjecture.

the average might go down by a point. there were many scores 22AA+ last cycle but this cycle there aren't many.

i hope it comes down because it seems like last year's scores were ridiculous

IMO, last year was one of the most, if not the most competitive cycle. That being said, I also hope this year wouldn't be as tough as last year...

OMG, how come I still did so poor in Ochem?
I don't know how the other sections are comparing to last year, but your RC is harder than the canadian DAT.

I agree. It was ridiculous last year, alot of people were posting up DAT scores of 22+ and there were threads about it everywhere but this cycle seems to be less of a freak show.... but nevertheless the average might be a point or two lower since the average from year to year seems to varies very little. The good thing is competition won't be as bad right?

I don't think competition will ever be "down". For all we know, the DAT writers looked at last year, didn't like what they say, increased the difficulty of the test, so last year's 22 is this year's 19. Competition is the same, just the numbers are a little different.

Maybe so, but take into mind that the test is standardized. The DAT has 4 different versions if I remember right (don't quote me on this) and it draws from a bank of pre-made questions that has been researched and carefully listed. I highly doubt that the questions bank has changed so much in 1 year cycle that it made many scores dropped from 22 to a 19 like you said. But you are right, the competition is always there. Just do your best👍

Competition to get into dental school seems to be cyclical...sometimes it is pretty easy...sometimes it is pretty hard...last year was very hard. This year may end up being a bit easier than last year, it may not. It is never easy to get in, but the degree of difficulty does change from year to year.
