Is BARRY really that bad??

I can't help but notice a tremendous amount of negative comments regarding Barry University, specifically their Biomedical Science Masters degree program (1 year). It has really put me off of applying/attending the institution... I am just wondering is it really that bad? Has anyone completed the program recently, or enrolled currently?
Any recent insight is greatly appreciated.

I was particularly interested in the "disorganization" of the program and other related claims of the program itself.

I also the thing the OP is trying to break for the most threads on essentially the same topic. As of this post, he is on 35 threads started, and only 112 posts...

OP - you don't need to start a new thread every 5 seconds. You have raised your situation and concerns in multiple threads, and if you have program specific questions dig up those threads unless they are really old.

...Yes... I apologize I use this site as a source of information, somewhere to ask questions to people in the same field to gain insight which I can't really do here. In your investigation of my stats, you should also take note of the time span of my posts... I've been trying to get on track for a couple years - the posts may look similar but are not from every 5 seconds.

I'd like to think this site is a good starting place as I am not familiar with American schools. I have read the old posts and thus asked for any recent information, if the program really has changed / gone downhill.

Lastly, I am a female.

I'm glad that I chose not to attend Barry. The application process felt extremely disorganized and visiting the school only served to reinforce that feeling. The classrooms all felt very dark and and many are not air conditioned. The classrooms are old, the offices are old, the library is old; the only thing not dated is the new student center. The school's location leaves a lot to be desired; it's in a sketchy neighborhood with little nearby. The program is also seems ridiculously overpriced, in my opinion. Barry just seems like a degree mill where they care little about students and only about the money. When I met with the program director (who has since changed), he tried to discourage me from my career goal (dentistry) and sway me into podiatry or physician assisting school.

If Barry had a consistent, public record of putting its 1 year MS grads into med school and dental school, I'd recommend Barry. Focus on the results, not the experience. A total dump of a crap school is an awesome school if it gets you to med/dent school.

I agree... but often the environment can facilitate or hinder your learning and ultimately your performance and thus whether it gets you into dental/med school, so I was just wondering about the structure, organization, profs etc. it all makes a difference

Barry's BMS program has recently moved to a brand new building in Hollywood, FL which is a much nicer area than Miami Shores. So both facilities and location have improved...

I know two people who did Barry's BMS program. One was accepted to LECOM and the other ended up at Ross. She was a URM but had a 21 on the MCAT and maybe a 3.25 GPA She did not want to go the DO route. Dr Midlife is correct you need to take into consideration what is your undergrad GPA and MCAT.

Well, I am Canadian with a 3.53 cGPA, 3.47 sGPA, 3.2 BCP and 20/20/20 DAT currently.
