Is being an SDN admin/mod something you put on AMCAS?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know a few have in the past. It's a time commitment that they do to ensure smooth running of the board.

Not if you don't want to be accountable for every word that can and can't be taken out of context.

I wouldn't recommend it if you're not one.

SDN has come up in interviews before. I'm sure almost all adcoms are aware of it, but how they view the experience would depend on each school individually.

Yeah I've definitely heard of a few who have (I wasn't on staff until long after I submitted)

 it's sort of that random off-the-wall EC that you might be asked about in an interview a couple of times, but I doubt it looks good or bad.

What he said. Some do, some don't. But there's no denying that the moderators on this forum put in a lot of time to make this resource available to those involved in the healthcare community. But as a web-based activity it tends to lose a lot of its credibility, compared to say being an officer in a pre-med organization at a school, while in actuality, the two activities are quite similar.

Haha, don't worry...I wasn't asking this for myself. I think I've killed all chances of becoming a mod since getting all those infractions a few weeks ago. Actually I thought about it after spending a couple of hours in the mod / admin forums and began to understand the process a bit, how nominations are done, etc. And I figured it's mostly on a volunteer basis and does involve some leadership / responsibility.

yeah it's should be considered as clinical exposure to neurotic premeds.

There is a mod/admin forum? How were you able to access it if you're not a mod yourself?

It could be easy to figure out which mod someone was if they listed it as an activity on AMCAS, with enough searching.

No - I simply went to the forums. I can read, but can't post.

So when I look at all the forums on SDN, under the heading : "volunteer moderator forums" - there are 2 subcategories:

Moderators

Administrators

Reported Posts&PMs

I can go into each one and read. I can't post anything or start new threads. I assure you I didn't do anything illegal - I just happened to start reading those forums yesterday, being bored out of my mind. If any mod wants to send me a PM and ask me about it, please feel free...I just assumed it was the same for everybody.

By the way, JimmerJammer, I was kidding about the knowing your secrets thing...I don't in fact know any personal info about any mod / admin on this forum. I wasn't that bored.

You must be "the one". Because I definetly can't see those forums.

By the way - for any mods/admins reading this, I no longer have access to the volunteer forums. So...poo.

I've never been able to see those forums either 😕.

Do you believe in the prophecy?

Too bad I wasn't smart enough to keep my mouth shut. Oh well.

In my defense, this is the only forum I'm an "active" member of, so my experience is pretty limited.

I propose that my infractions be revoked due to my unabated honesty about a very sensitive issue that had the potential of becoming an extreme breach of confidentiality. Am I right?!

By the way...the infractions are unrelated to this haha.

Mods make 100k per year. Admin make 2 million dollars per year on SDN.

'Tis an empire of greed.
