On Aug 30, they wrote me and said, "give us 60 dollars, a picture ID, DAT scores, and 3 letters of recommendations" because we start reviewing COMPLETED apps on Sept 15th.

Well, I haven't sent them 60 dollars, nor given them a picture ID, and my letters aren't even sent out from my Pre-Health Office to AADSAS - yet I got an invitation for interview today. Are they on crack?

Boston is known for interviewing a lot of people

I still haven't heard from Boston, Columbia, and Harvard.

Hello, a fellow classmate at BU had the same experience. Before any information left the pre-health office, she had an interview already. However, the $60 dollars will be paid whenever. If you don't pay it, you don't matriculate, but that doesn't stop you from the interview process. A picture ID they need because they keep a data bank of all student pictures, and if they don't get it, they will take it at the pinning ceremony so that is no big deal at this point. Now this is where her experience is. She told me that she took the DAT and it went off to all the schools. When she interviewed they had the DAT scores but no information from AADSAS. They didn't talk to her about DAT or GPA or anything, just a little bit about yourself. Looking back on my interview, I had talked about Spain in the summer and Greek food (my wife is greek) and that was about it. I think the interview process is to show what BU has to offer, and make sure you have all ten fingers. They then compare your completed file to the 1000's of other applicants. She said that they sent a letter stating that the decision process won't continue until all informaiton has been submitted. I wouldn't say BU is easier to get in, but the high cost of education deters many students from going. So many interviews are needed. I got into IUPUI and UIllinois but chose BU because of the variety of programs, research options (peridontology is huge), experience the pretencious east coast, and the faculty are awesome. Good luck

All that means is they will grant you an interview for now, but not review your application for admission to the school until it is complete i.e. all those things they asked for. No they aren't "on crack."
