Should I take business calculus or go with the regular calculus?

Regular Calculus

The business math courses (depending on your business major) are often lower than that of the engineering/science math courses. You should take the regular math calc for science majors, the business one will probably not satisfy the pre req.

yeah exactly. plus, calc is a good, basic math you should learn a good foundation... it's too watered down in the business version.

I'm an economics and physiology major, and took the science-calc.. i'm glad i did!

At my school there were only two levels for calculus. One for engineers and math majors and one for everyone else. I took the one for everyone else. It ended up being for business majors. The tests were super easy because the students were not at all math oriented and all of the problems were geared towards business/economics. I learned what I needed to know and nobody knows it was business calc. It just says on my transcript "Calculus I" and "Calculus II". So if you can get away with the business calc and you're not going to be taking or having an interest in high level math/physics/engineering courses, I would consider it.

I took business calculus and have had no problems during my application process. Besides, most med schools dont require any calculus at all, so I doubt they would descriminate between levels of calculus. But, if you are interested in top 10 schools maybe it would be a good idea to go on and take the science level one, b/c I think some of those schools do require calc. Otherwise, I would advise taking the easier one.

Good plan, that's what I'm doing this semester, too.

You get a choice? Everyone at my school (engineering/science/premed/economics) take the same calc classes. Calculus at my school is evil...pure evil (language of the devil...and I'm not talking about no mascot 😉 )Take business calc if you don't plan on majoring in a science.
