Is Columbia lenient on the 3 science prof LORs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I actually emailed the school and told them I only had 2 science profs, a dentist, and someone else. They said that was fine.

Thank you...they seemed really strict on their site. Are there any schools that won't be satisfied with 2 science and a dentist?

I think they would toss anything that is not from AADSAS. If I were you, I would send that letter to AADSAS first despite the trouble it would cost.

Also, I don't think they will ask for a third science professor.
I have 2 sci, 1 dentist and 1 employer (who is a faculty at my univ. but from whom I didn't take a class). If Coulmbia will be interested in me, I am open to negotiation on that 3rd letter 😀.

I am not going to send the third sci letter to aadsas. At this point it would definetely cost me more than not being considered by columbia (back in January, I could've fixed it maybe 🙂).

I think a lot of people feel the same way. Although officially they said they require 3 science profs, Columbia admissions implied they would be flexible. Otherwise they would probably be rejecting 30-50% of their applicant pool off the bat just for the LOE requirement.

if i remember right, when i called columbia, the lady on the phone was kind rough-attitudey with me and i asked her about my rec letters and she was like "you'll be FINE." in a tone like "stop bugging me i don't really care."

hmm perhaps this was the lady that sent out the mean email after they wanted us all to pay another $75 to send us our rejection letter..........

i would talk to someone higher up if you wanted a definite answer.

I was accepted there and only had 2 science prof and one dentist. I never mentioned it to them, and they never mentioned to me. If you're applying with "sexy" stats such as I did.. I think they could care less.
