I don't understand why people keep saying D3 is better than D2. Maybe the workload is less, and there's more sleep time, but it seems so much more stressful, with real patients and real situations. It's seems completely different from D1 and D2. I don't know how to deal with it. And that's kind of giving me anxiety.

Take a deep breath. D3 is just new to you but keep at it. I learned the most from the most stressful situations in dental school. This is where the real learning in dental school starts.

Every school and every person is different..
The few people i know currently in school are all giving me varied responses because of differences in curriculum and personality.

I know a D3 who has enough time to play video games and spend time with his spouse. He finds D3 much easier than D2.
I also know someone that just wants to get out of school ASAP. He's not having a good time at school and just wants to graduate.

Yea I guess keeping at it is the only thing I can do now haha.

We had operative and perio patients D2 year, so at least that part of it won't be new/stressful. I think I'm most worried about doing the lab work for removable on real patients, as opposed to a typodont.

Everyone tells me it's a different kind of stress. But that we have more free time.

You're going to hit a stride at some point where things become much more routine. Then you can focus on the new stuff as it comes. Right now nothing is routine to you and you feel overwhelmed. It's not uncommon.

Still though, I feel like anything is better than DS2 year. I hated that year more than any of the four.

D2 was pretty stressful for me because the tests didn't stop, D3 was more exhausting for me but much less stressful. Some days were stressful but overall grades didn't really matter, so it was more of a transition and getting used to the clinic. Some days I feel like I only did a cleaning or two yet I get home and I'm ready to sleep.
