I put an honors thesis class as one of my future courses on my amcas but as the summer passes by, I've changed my mind. I've been doing research for 2 years, i have received summer fellowships, done a research poster but I have no publications. Would not doing the thesis be detrimental to my application? would doing it help a lot? I'm worried it'll come up in my interviews. I really don't want to do the thesis but if it'll make it or break it for me, I would do it. Can anyone give me advice on this?

It won't hurt you. If you changed your mind about taking the course, don't take it. And honestly, doing it won't help you at all.

Might help, won't hurt. I listed a thesis that I was intending on doing as an activity but didn't end up completing it due to laziness. Nothing happened.

If you WANT to do it, do it. If you're doing it for your app, save yourself the grief.

It can be certainly time consuming with many weekends spent in lab. However, if you are committed and join the right lab, your thesis and results could become very fruitful i.e. publications, presentations across the country, better opportunities for more competitive residencies, etc.
