I am a freshman at UTSA, I was planing to transfer to University of Texas or Texas A&M next semester. I really want to be a dentist. I really don't know if I should attend the predental program at UTSA or transfer to another school. Is there any body who actually attend this program?

You have to go through an interview process, and so you are not guaranteed of getting into it. You have to apply before you have 30 hours I think. It is a great program if you are accepted and you want to attend the UTHSCSA dental school. I think you have to maintain a 3.5 and make an 18AA. At least I think that's how it was when I was a freshman. I am not in the program, but there are 4 students in my class who are. Three went to UTSA, and one was from ACU, which also does the program as well. If you have any other questions, PM me.

I have not experience with the UT program or dental school itself, but I am in the last (3rd) year of a 3/4 bs/dds program with suny buffalo. I honestly think if you are interested in dentistry by all means go for it! This applies to the early assurance program we have as well. You still have to take the DAT and maintain a GPA but the amount of worrying is next to none. My friends are all freaking out applying to med schools and the like, I am much more relaxed right now and feel a lot less stress.
