Is having an MCAT private tutor better or worse than taking a prep course?

Has anyone done both? Not saying I will, but I'd just like to know which is better.

I wouldn't recommend tutoring as its usually ridiculous expensive to do this.

Of course it's better its just expensive. You also have to figure out if you learn best by self-studying or in a classroom setting. If you learn best in a classroom, then you would be saving couple thousand bucks my friend.

It all comes down to the quality of the teacher or teachers. Make sure you sit-in on a lecture or have a trial run with a private tutor before committing. Also, talk to your fellow pre-meds in YOUR area about the teacher quality in YOUR area.
