I am interviewing for a ED scribe job at the hospital of a school I am waitlisted at. It’s my top school and I had some questions I wanted to ask over the phone, but I’ll be in town. Can provide more context if necessary but wanted to see general consensus. I couldn’t find much via search thread and would appreciate any feedback... but please none implying I’m a *****. I already know I’m neurotic 🙄

Getting hired for the ED scribing job doesn't mean you'll have to deal with the admissions committee.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. This was more so to explain that I will be in town.

I'll bet desperate waitlistees are as common as flies. So lawyer + parents, or even lawyers alone

And why does none of this surprise me????
The trifecta of lawyers, parents and applicant is rare ( the pre-med version of the Warren Zevon tune).
The combo of parents and applicant is uncommon.
Applicants alone is common.
None of these will help.
Any of them can hurt.

Because some things in life are entirely predictable. Short list: death, taxes, the Browns sucking, my pager going off the second I sit down to eat, and desperate applicants doing desperate things.

Fixed that for you.

Hey keep the browns out of this 😛

If you go, take some baked goodies with you 😉

Can’t deny the truth. 😛
...especially when you have a parade to celebrate your mediocrity! Hahaha

Ok that parade was well deserved, what other team had such a perfect season? Not many can make that claim.

Edit: although I hope my med school application cycle looks nothing like their record

Only in the company of the Lions!

And best of luck with your apps!

I served on an adcom with a faculty member who, many years earlier, called the admissions office of the school that waitlisted her. In fact, she called every day. On the day when she did not call, the school called her to offer her a slot! (And maybe to be sure that she was okay.) That has got to be the most crazy admissions office situation of all time. I think it might have been 40 years ago but I wouldn't doubt that they are still talking about her there. 😉
