I'm drafting an update letter for several of the schools that accept update letters and I was wondering if it is okay for me to bring up a weakeness and how I am going about improving that weakeness.

Specifically, I believe one of the weaker points of my application is a lack of leadership activities. I was a VP of a club and was a coach for athletes with intellectual disabilities but that's about it. As a result, for my application/gap year I got a job as a Project manager at a cancer research firm and was selected as regional vice president for a new program hosted by a large nonprofit organization here in the the U.S.

Is it okay to recognize a current weakeness and talk about how I am going about improving it in the update?

I have this zit on my chin but it is getting better after I put some .... No. Just no.

Instead say, "I am pleased to offer this up-date to my application. I was recently hired as a project manager at ____, a cancer research firm. In addition, I've been selected to serve as a regional vice president of a new program hosted by [organization name]."

You have a point. I appreciate the response.
