Is it bad form to apply to the Medicine prelim and TY at the same hospital??

I'm going to be doing just that. I think it's fairly common.

im applying to some peds prelims and some transitionals. so i hope its not a big deal. know how interviews work? i would hate to make two separate trips.

forget about applying to same TY and med prelims in the same hospital...what about in addition to those, applying to their categorical anesthesia (or rads, or optho, or whatever you're applying for) as well....? is that ok? that's wht i'm doing. ive read somewhere on this forum before (can't find thread) that doing that is a big no no. any clarification from the big dogs?

If you're applying for a residency that starts in the PGY-2 year, I think it's pretty much expected that you'll apply for the prelim or trans. year there as well.

why on earth would that be a big no no? I mean, you have to apply to separate PGY-1 years for those residencies, PDs know that. I don't think they'd care at all. Might actually be better because then you'll have some familiarity with the hospital system before CA-1
