I am deciding between two schools. At one school the students take their boards (part I) after D1, the other after D2. At first it seems to me like taking the boards after D1 would put students at a disadvantage, but then again I like the idea of getting them out of the way.

Is it better to take the boards after D1 or D2, or is the difference insignificant?

Good question.....😕

As long as you've had the classes that cover the subjects I guess it really shouldn't matter. Most of my class took them over x-mas break of our second year. While it sucked studying over most of the break it is very nice having them out of the way.

we took the boards after our first year. it was really nice to have them done with. i didn't feel at a disadvantage at all, i think the only section that would benefit from taking it later would be the dental anat section, but that was my best section, so it didn't really matter that we hadn't really been in clinic or anything like that.
