Is it easier to go back to california as IM or peds?

There's a lot less peds programs. So I'm guessing peds would be more difficult.
 
There are a handful of Med/Peds programs, but given how few of them there are, it would be even more difficult to get into a residency in California with those.

I'm aware what you were talking about, but I haven't seen people who are interested in both apply to one or the other. They either go FM or Med/Peds, because doing one or the other means you won't see the other age group.

Small sample size, but my class had equal number of people match into CA IM and CA Peds programs (we are an east coast school).
