Is it just me or is the 2015-2016 application cycle slower/more competitive than other years?

Obviously, with each passing year, the applicant pool gets more competitive. However, it seems like the amount of seats opening up around this time of the app season is slower than usual. Do you think some schools are just proceeding slower than usual or are the applicants not dropping multiple seats yet (even with deposit deadlines)?

I have been following many schools for this cycle and I have not seen the movement that we typically observe by this point in the cycle.

Thoughts/comments?

Pretty soon we will be at a mean gpa of 4.33+ and DAT of 30+.
