As title suggets, I am a sophomore and I haven't started shadowing dentists yet.

Can I start shadowing them? I am worried that I might be little behind. Is it late to start as a sophomore?

Also, I have not been involved in extracurricular activies at my college. Is it ok if I start getting involved and be active starting next semester? I had a health problem in my freshman year so I could not do extracurricular activies.

Thank you.

No I started December before I applied.

And get as many EC'S as you possibly can.

I only shadowed for two weeks the winter break before I applied. You’re fine

Crammed 145 hours of shadowing the month before submitting my application. I don’t recommended it at all

I shadowed after graduating as well.

I got in to UDM with 50 hours of shadowing, which I was able to complete the summer after graduation. Unfortunately, I suspect that other schools look down on anything less than 100 hours. I recommend 100 hrs as a target and you should be good to go! I would also recommend reflecting on and journaling your memorable experiences at the clinic. Even though I only shadowed for 50 hours, I spoke about my experiences interacting with patients and seeing the dentist-patient relationship. 🙂

Just shadow over this summer. I shadowed 4 dentists while taking summer classes and got about 110hrs
