Is it likely to actually be accepted off a wait list? I'm currently on two wait lists and number thirteen on one of them. I'm nervous I'm too high up and don't have a chance.

It's never hopeless. I was on a waitlist at one school for one week and got taken off and I was wait listed from November until January at another school. Most schools pick the best applicants and have to wait for their response. While those really good applicants are also waiting to hear back from their top choice schools (if that school isn't their top choice). This process takes a long time and you may not be off until as far as the first week of that schools class. Don't lose hope because it is possible. And thirteen isn't that bad.

It's all relative to each program. Just remember to stay positive through the process and if you don't get accepted this round, figure out what you need to improve and come back next cycle as a stronger applicant.
It's definitely possible. I was on Shenandoah's waitlist for about a month when I was accepted. I have no idea where I was on the waitlist because SU doesn't give out that information. Just stay positive, good luck!

I was wait-listed on SU as well once upon a time. I think they W/L students to keep them on the hook. They called me a week later and offered me a spot, but I had already accepted an offer from my top school.

Congrats! I'm currently #7 on the alternate list at my top choice school and your experience has given me hope.
I was wait listed for two days at UNE and still ended up getting accepted less than a week after my interview. I think it definitely depends on the school and how they do things, but it seems like a lot of people get in off the wait list. Good luck!

Most definitely possible. I was put on the waiting list on a Thursday; I was accepted the following Tuesday. Last year I remained on two waiting lists and didn't get in, however.

You can call the school and ask how far they have gone down the waitlist in the past. If they have the info, they will share it with you. That's what I did and the schools were really nice about it.
I actually got off one wait list but I ended up getting into my top choice as well.
