This is a sort of like an extension to my other topic where I really hate the pharmacy i'm at. My pharmacists are very apathetic. It's not so bad during the weekdays because we're busy anyway. But oh how I dread going to work every Saturday. Nobody says much. There are only me, the cashier, and the pharmacist. No one talks to each other much. I tried to start a conversation but it always goes dry. I"m so close to finding another place to work. I feel they are very apathetic or something. I"m not sure of whether or not to ask my pharmacist for a recommendation because he used to be so nice to this worker but who would have thought he gave her a bad one out of no where. I"m afraid he might do that to me..

Anyway, if any of you guys work in the pharmacy, how often do you get a raise. From what I heard, you should get one after the first 3 months you work there right? My pharmacist never mentions about it but I know Walgreens do it like that.

Usually for jobs, you get a raise after an entire year, or at best 6 months. I'm speaking for most jobs--every sector, not just pharmacy. But I don't know if they get special treatment.. Anyway, just throwin' that at you.

A couple of points worth mentioning.

--It's probably not apathy the pharmacist is experiencing, as that implies a general 'does not care attitude'. It's quiet possible that he has a lot going on now and being quiet is how he deals with it (aka holding it in).

--Generally you only get raises inside of 6 mos when you're in a high churn area or once you've completed a certification of sorts (either internal to the company or external certifications). If the money is a problem go to another store.

--There are casual ways of bringing up letters of recommendations to a person, I'd suggest you get a feeling for him prior to asking. Things like, 'Hey, I'm looking to be a pharmacist, what sort of things could I work on to assist me in that endevour?' or 'Hey, do you feel I have the neccesary assets to be a good pharmacist?'.
