My undergrad has this nice website where you can list all the schools where a transcript needs to be sent and they will do it for you. But I'm wondering if we have to use the transcript matching form on the AADSAS website?

It would save me a lot of trouble if I didn't have to use that form. Does anyone know about this?

I don't think you "HAVE" to use that form...but it would make it easier for AADSAS. You don't want to give them any opportunity to misplace your materials or mistakenly file them in another file.

If you don't use the form, make sure you include a note with the transcipt that tells them your name, SSN, and other pertinent info.

I THINK YOU HAVE TO USE THE FORM when sending the transcript to aadsas, unless you want to risk your transcript lost or misplaced. However when sending transcripts to individual schools you don't have to use the matching form.

Hmmm... thanks but the above 2 posts seem contradictory.

I was planning on just sending my transcripts straight to the schools in order to save some time. I think I had better check with the schools to make sure I'm doing it right.

Those statements aren't really contradictory. Would it be better stated if it said "strongly suggested" instead of "have to"? The point is that if you're sending transcripts to AADSAS, then use the transcript matching form. It lowers your risk. Ultimately, you don't have to do anything you don't want to let alone sending a transcript matching form, but then in this case, you'd just be rolling the dice.

But it seems as if you're planning to send transcripts directly to the schools themselves. So, you won't have to use the matching form. If you were you asking if you should send the transcript matching forms directly to the schools you're applying, the answer is no.

Also, why just not send an extra copy to AADSAS (even if you send transcripts to your schools directly). Personally, I think using AADSAS to send your transcripts will save you time, not the other way around, especially if you're applying to a lot of schools.

I don't know if anyone is aware of this but there is a really nice 'search' feature on this message board that lets you search previous posts.

Ah yes, why didn't I think of that! 🙄 As a long time SDNer I am well aware of the search function, but there were no threads that fit my situation.
