Is it ok if my head is seductively tilted to the side in my secondary photo?

Lol so im smiling in it, head tilted to the side, and its just my neck and up. Is that okay? or does my head have to look straight and i have to look serious?

Only if you also have that come hither look. Also, tasteful nudes are also accepted provided they are in black and white.

If it's no more "seductive" than that photo, I'd say you're okay. I would call that sort of a head-tilt "cute" or "fun" way before I'd call it seductive.

She's not being fun; she's clearly mocking some poor schmuck's penis size. That 'Are you serious?' orientation of the eyebrows proves it.

Seriously? There is no way and I mean no way they will take you serious if you dont have your index finger in your mouth. Im going with the pealing a banana with a leather leash around my neck theme myself. Oh and Im a guy.:xf:

To me that doesn't read as seductive. It does read as "I'm just a little girl... *giggle* *hair-flip* Don't take me seriously."

basically it matters how hot you are.

If you are hot you can get away with murder.

i'd hit it

no way you didn't know what would happen if you posted this

When they ask for a passport photo, they're asking for something that would be accepted as your passport photo...

So, unless your head is naturally tilted seductively to the side, I would try to at least get a passport-style photo

i thought by passport photo they just meant the size has to be 2 by 2

Sorry, I think it's borderline unprofessional. You may get judged based on your 'pose'

Honestly, I think that looks ******ed 👎

Why is it the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was trochlear N or superior oblique muscle dysfunction.

Girl in the original photo is cute. Would totally ask out. However, even if the photo is "passable" for what it is intended for, it is pretty cheap not to spend the extra 2-3 bucks it might take to take a proper one at Walgreen's.

P.S. That tilt is in no way seductive. It is at best girly/cute, at worse, unprofessional.

if you tilt your head to the angle she has hers tilted to look at the photo, she doesn't look half as good looking. her smile is crooked and eyes are 3 mm off. Dr. Troy would not hit.

Go with the duckface theme instead:

if I somehow manage to get into a school this cycle, remind me to write a book of all the things that have to be right with your application to get in by SDN standards

I spent a total of $0.12 on my passport photos. 6 of them. That and about 10 minutes of post-processing with PhotoShop to adjust the color contrast.

Only if you're also sucking on a lollipop or licking a melting ice cream cone...

Secondary photos are pretty dumb. They are not grounds for acceptance or rejection. Thus, if there is any question as to whether the photo you have attached may raise a flag, then take the steps necessary to get another one done.

As long as your secondary photo isn't like a prison mugshot you're probably good. But better to be safe than sorry.

I think it's cool you tilted your head in your secondary pic. It's different but not too different to be thrown out. The head tilt gives the composition more of a dynamic and engaging quality.

However, I do not think it was a good idea to post your pic up here, you should have known what was to come lol.

Read the thread...its not a picture of her

funny thread

If you decide to go with the head tilt, despite what has been said, either go with a much larger tilt, or with a smaller tilt. The specific tilt angle of the girl in the picture just isnt cutting it for me.

On the contrary--that pic is so seductive you'll get your acceptance letter before the interview invitation.

What happened to number 4?

"Unprofessional"... I hate that word these days. "Do this? Unprofessional. That? Very unprofessional. Something we just don't personally like? Holy ****, unprofessional."

I don't think it's a big deal, but I'm also not on an admissions committee. OP, if you can't do anything about it, may as well let it go.

If the rest of your app is deemed interview material, I doubt seriously a picture is going to keep you from getting that interview unless you've got a swastika carved into your forehead.

Unless that's the way your head really tilts, I would use a better picture. Why would you think that would set you apart? You want people to think you're professional, mature, and serious. You should also not crop something that appears on facebook, or where there's a phantom arm holding a budweiser around your shoulder.

I would say use a different picture if you can. The picture is "cute" but I don't think that's the impression you wanna give up front. Reserve the cuteness and great smile for the interview 😉

^^ My friend, if OP is still considering which pic to use after 3 months:

1) like omgz
2) she will make a terrible doctor
3) i feel bad for her future patients
4) she should go DO
5) nice strawman
6) she's riding a high horse
7) she should go carrib
8) Profit!

That picture says one of two things to me—headshot or "Dear Abby."

"Hello, my name is _____, and for my audition, I'll be singing ‘On My Own' from the seminal Broadway classic, Les Miserables."

"Dear Worried in Walla Walla..."
